New Pianos!!!
April 2, 2010 at 8:30 pm | Posted in Asheville Music School News | Leave a commentTags: ams, ams west, new pianos, piano, pianos, young chang
We’ve had so much news over the last couple of weeks with the new location in West Asheville and new instructors that will be available at that location, news coverage of the opening and the Rock Academy. In all of that coverage I’ve kept putting off the great news of 2 new pianos at our Charlotte Street location (and one at our Patton Avenue lcoation). For quite some time we have made do with donated pianos or used instruments that we could get a good deal on. As you probably know, the quality of instruments can vary wildly. Among the new pianos are two made by Young Chang. The quality of these are REALLY nice in comparison to the instruments they have displaced and we hope to have many years of fine service from them. Of course, one of the goals with upgrading to a finer instrument is to open up the possibility for more advanced lessons on an instrument that really is capable of quite a bit more expression and control. These new instruments are great fun to play and make a great addition!
Instructors Listing for our Asheville Music School West Location

We’ve had quite a bit of excitement the last week or so about our new location on Patton Avenue. (1408-F Patton Avenue) If you didn’t already know it’s in Patton Plaza on the lower level behind Music City. There are lots of things to be excited of course beyond just new paint and a new spot. There’s the classroom (25’x16′) which we’ve estimated may seat about 40 people with a bit of space to spare. But, there are a also the local musicians that are taking part and are available to teach at our new location. Of course, some of our instructors from our Charlotte Street location will be scheduling days over at the West Asheville location as well, but we have had the opportunity to bring in some new instructors to help meet the demand.
If you caught the news item on our Ribbon cutting Tuesday one of the questions left may be… So, who’s at the new location and what instruments are being taught there?
Anne Coombs is the founder of the Asheville Music School and co-owner of the Patton Avenue location. She teaches all styles and ages on Guitar.
Jae Sedmak – Guitar
Amy Rae – Voice
Ryan Reardon – Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass
Shayne Heather – Bass
Neal Crowley – Guitar, Fiddle, Mandolin and Banjo.
Delia Lytle Bailey – Flute
Brad Earnhardt – Classical Guitar *He got a bit of a highlight in the WLOS clip of our ribbon cutting.*
Jesse Langlais – Banjo and Dobro
Debbie Davis – Piano
Joey K – Drums
Of course as I noted some of the instructors above also teach at our Charlotte St. location and so the days of the week they are at the Patton Avenue site may vary. In coming weeks and months we will likely have more to list as our teachers schedules fill up!
–UPDATE 3/31/10–
We’re pleased to be adding another two names to this list:
Brian Turner-Piano
Valerie Poullette-Violin

The west location is located at 1408 Patton Avenue in Patton Plaza in the same building as Music City. Just past Haywood Road.
